The range

The team of Champagne Castelnau has a free spirit and embraces new ideas about winemaking. They put a lot of energy, love and attention in and to the vineyards.

And you can taste that in the glass!

If you want classic, then choose the Brut. Would you like elegant and powerful? Then the Rosé is your favourite. If you prefer ripe, rich and a touch sweet, then you should definitely choose the Demi-Sec

And if you are an out-of-the-box type, then the ''Hors Categorie'' is for you.

Castelnau millésime 2006

The quality of the grapes from 2006 was exceptional. Not every year a millésimé is made. Castelnau only does this in exceptional years. The cuvée consists of half Chardonnay, thirty percent Pinot Noir, which gives the firmness to the wine and twenty percent Pinot Meunier. After a long ageing in bottle of twelve years in the cellars of Reims and a lot of patience, a soft refined mousse and a delicate taste emerge. Millésimé 2006 allows you to discover roasted nuts, toast and ripe yellow fruit in your nose and mouth. This dry millésimé goes well with a delicate cuisine with refined fish dishes such as monkfish or dishes with truffle.

The International Wine & Spirits Competition gives this special champagne 95 out of 100 points in their evaluation. That's another good reason to open this bottle! Party!

Castelnau brut

Brut is the driest Champagne of the range. That's why the Brut is perfect as an aperitif or delicious with finger food like sushi, maki and sashimi.

With its beautiful juicy fresh acidity, it refreshes your mouth and taste buds and you are ready for the evening. Winemaker Elisabeth Garcelot has a new challenge every year to create the right style Brut with the harvest and her reserve wines. This is pure art!

A girlsb(l)end!

The Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are blended together so that each grape variety has its own share of flavour in this harmonious Brut. Most Brut Champagnes mature for about 15 months in the cellar. Champagne Castelnau is different, as the winemaker has opted for a double maturation period.

Castelnau demi-sec

Oh baby! Love me tender!

This is the champagne for people who like rich, complex sweetness with a tropical fresh bite.

This wine consists of 40% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir and the rest Pinot Meunier. This elegant sweet champagne has an enormous complexity and a fresh touch in the taste due to the beautiful acids and a delightful creaminess.

With 35 grams of sugar per litre, this Demi-Sec is perfect to drink with sweet desserts, desserts with fruit or nuts and warm apple pie. If you prefer cheese, then you should definitely try strong blue-veined cheeses, such as Gorgonzola.

The taste of sweet candied fruit, sultanas and tropical fruits embraces the salty and piquant of the blue cheese and melts together like love at first sight. It's a bitter sweet symphony.

Castelnau hors categorie

This Champagne is an extra category. Unlike any other! An out-of-the-box project by the two female cellar masters Carine Bailleut and Elisabeth Garcelot.

More than half of the Champagne is made up of Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier and is supplemented with Chardonnay.

The grapes come from the best vineyards from the best years 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012. The wines have undergone wood maturation, which is unusual in Champagne.

In the aroma and taste you will discover notes of ripe peach, vanilla, toasted bread supported by the most refined mousse you can imagine.

This gives a refinement and refreshment to this complex Champagne making this beautiful wine in harmony.

This limited edition does require some attention when drinking.

Go into the kitchen and slave away! Various vegetables, fish and meat dishes with pronounced flavours and sauces can be combined.

Mmmmm.... I think I love you too much!

Castelnau réserve

The Réserve is a step further, a step higher than the Brut. Even a little better.

With a blend of 40% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Meunier supplemented with Pinot Noir, this Champagne offers the power of elegance.

Elegant enough to drink as an aperitif with dinner or as a refresher on a summer day with tapas. Also powerful enough to serve with fried sole, grilled scallops or richly filled salads. Due to the addition of thirty percent reserve wine (these are wines from previous years) and the fact that these have matured even longer in the cellar, this is the icon among Castelnau Champagnes. Through its long and slow maturation Castelnau creates a Champagne with depth and an aftertaste that goes on and on......

Riders on the storm!

Castelnau rosé

Half of this elegant champagne consists of Pinot Meunier, supplemented by 30% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot Noir. These grapes come from old vines. As a vine gets older, it gives less yield, but a better / exceptional quality. An old vine is like an old rock star!

This is how Mother Nature gives the best quality she has to offer.

Castelnau Rosé shines through with its elegant and rich taste of small red fruit, black forest fruit and the freshness of grapefruit.  This bottle matures for four years on its yeast cells in the cellar in Reims. This is how the magic happens and you get a soft and elegant mousse and a standing ovation for the enormously long and exciting aftertaste.
